Seeds of Belief

From the distant corners of my mind

Rises a memory of a time gone by.

A new start they said, something unheard of before

A team hastily put together marches on unfrazzled

Conquering all that came in their path

Crowing themselves the kings of the land.

Year after year, the conquerers prevailed

Their will such, that the best crumbled.

A will of fire and nerves of steel

Never to bow down, never to give in

Many a mountains climbed, many a oceans crossed

The banners of the mighty eagle soared high with pride

But not forgotten are those hardships when looked back

The nights of tears and broken hearts

So close they came, yet slipped through,

The glory that was, but never to be.

Crushed but not broken, the men rose again

Conquering again, what was laid in front.

Over and over they rose and fell

Never stopped believing, never giving in

But cometh a time, when the heroes of yore

seeds of doubt for now lingers

Listen to me, O' Men of Steel

For the brave never surrenders, never gives in.

Once again, we shall assemble

Rallying behind the leaders till our voices heard

Once again, we shall conquerer

That which is ours by right

Once again, we shall celebrate

As one, never to be divided.

They say every cloud has a silver lining,

But with every rain, also can transform

A puny seed to a mighty tree

Plant the seed of belief in these dark times

And watch it grow as the dark leaves for light.
